“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” — Maya Angelou
In 2003 I became a yoga devotee.
Entirely uncoordinated, unaware, and unable to touch my toes—
the practice of yoga transformed my body.
The postures gave me a physical strength that translated to mental strength.
Yoga provides the tools to continually heal my body and myself every single day.
Yoga is gift that was given to me. One I felt I obligated to pass onto others.

Was given the gift of my RYT200 yoga teaching certification from YogaOasis in Tucson after being the recipient of Elizabeth Blue Scholarship. I owe everything to my teachers: Keelyn Riley (who taught my first yoga class), Darren Rhodes, Brigette Finely, Stephani Lindsey, NamasDave, the great B.K.S. Iyengar… and all of the c o u n t l e s s others who have influenced my unique teaching style.
Tatiana (Desert Mermaid) is an Arizona-born yoga teacher who offers healing and fitness-based yoga sessions, guided meditations, and intuitive exercises. Using yoga as an intervention for those struggling with depression and anxiety, is her focus.
Alongside many years of studying yogic philosophy, Tatiana also practices the sister science of Yoga (called Ayurveda). Guided by these teachings— she often uses herbs, plants, gems, and oils in her sessions.
Currently finishing a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Arizona , I also write about translational bioscience research for the BIO5 Institute, and have a B.A. in journalism. I have been a RYT 200 yoga teacher since 2014, have taught Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga, and Acroyoga.
Meditation, dance, music, nature, travel, furry friends, and good vegan cooking are a few other things that make my heart happy.
